FAITH FORMATION FOR KINDERGARTEN – 12th GRADE
Sessions for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade are held from September into May on Sunday mornings, 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM, in the Religious Education Center (REC) building. This program supplements the religious formation provided at home by leading the children to greater maturity of faith through knowledge, commitment and lifestyle.
We also ask that you fill out an Emergency Form for each child that you will be registering for any of our programs.

1ST RECONCILIATION – 1ST EUCHARIST
St. Rita’s Parish offers preparation sessions for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for children from Second Grade through 12th Grade. If your child will be preparing for these sacraments, he/she will also participate in Faith Formation. There are 6 sessions for preparation for Reconciliation and 6 sessions for 1st Eucharist. These sessions are for the child and a parent. There is also a retreat for the parent and child for each sacrament and formation sessions for parents for each sacrament. If your child was not baptized at St. Rita, we ask that you submit a copy of your child’s baptism certificate with your Sacramental Preparation registration form.
Please fill out a Registration Form for each child preparing for these sacraments.
St. Rita’s Youth Ministry is working to create a place for young Catholics in 6th – 12th grade to gather, to share their faith, to ask questions, to meet new friends and to participate in the Body of Christ through prayer, community service, and sacrament.
Youth Group is a faith community and because we are a community, we do the things that a community does: we work together and we play together! We meet on Sunday mornings 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM – 6:30 PM. Come and join us for faith, friendship, learning and fun!
What is the RCIA?
The RCIA is a process of initiating new members into the Catholic Church. It is for:
· Non-Catholics who have questions about the Catholic faith
· Those who have never been baptized
· Those who have been baptized in another Christian tradition and wish to join the Catholic Church.
· Those who have been baptized Catholic, but never celebrated the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Communion.
It is not a program or a class, but we speak of this process as a journey. At the heart of this process is conversion – not just turning around one’s intellect, but one’s entire being to Jesus Christ. This journey is not done alone, but with the company of a sponsor and the St. Rita Community.
It consists of four periods and each period is bridged with the celebration of a rite in church.
